April 9th, the new is out, Hunter is officially closed for the season.
A disappointing early closure for sure…
The season described in a phrase, top heavy. We had a great November
and December, but the snow quickly vanished after that. Hunter did a
nice job to keep it skiable all season. All this time, slightly to our
north, the Adirondacks, Greens, and Whites all got hammered. Some of
the northern resorts had their best snowfall on record. The West (and
everywhere else) faired quite well also.
The up side is, spring, summer, and fall are now in front of us. MTB,
fishing, kayaking… The list goes on…
This summer the powderhound's will be treated to a new community home.
The site will be getting a much needed overhaul.
Check back all summer for more news and as always, bumper's
weather.
Oh ya, we should be able to hike for turns well into June at Hunter.
Also, don't forget the Tuckerman trip.
Lastly, the 4th annual Mountain Jam.
