Hunter Mountain Report

3-20-01

A little sun breaks through! Some fresh snow fell Friday night and into Saturday morning. Saturday was a good day. Not too hot, not too cold. The bumps on crossover and 42nd street were corned up and ready for spring! 44 sported some nice fresh snow (some from the guns) and some bumps as the sun beat. A few boarders were strait lining this run, SWEET! Most trails were in great shape. At 3PM it started to get a bit colder and the mountain set up. The bar was the best run at this point.

Sunday was spring skiing for the most part. (Probably the closest this season anyway!) Bumps. Bumps. Bumps. All the normal mogul lanes were delightful. The mountain was sporting corn everywhere.

In suprising contrast to what I've said thus far about Sunday, 44 had wind drift powder knee deep in spots! Quite a delicacy for those who ventured. Whith more snow on the way, this is going to be a record Hunter season!!!!!!

By the way, NOT A BARE SPOT ON THE MOUNTAIN.

Plenty-O-Snow to play in the trees still.
